Pilot killed in plane crash in Surrey

At approximately 3:10 p.m. Friday, Surrey RCMP received a report that a small plane had gone down into a field south of Colebrook Road, north of Highway 99.

Police patrol units together with Surrey Fire and EHS were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Witnesses had seen the plane flying northwest, turning to go east when the plane went down. Upon attendance, emergency responders discovered one adult male, believed to be the pilot.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police are not in a position to identify the male at this time.

Both the BC Coroners Service and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada have been advised of the incident.
