Man arrested after brutal robbery in North Vancouver

A Lower Mainland man has been charged after an Edmonton couple were robbed by three men at gun point in their North Vancouver hotel Saturday morning.

The crime happended during early morning hours as three men entered the hotel room of the two victims, in the city to attend a wedding, and robbed them at gun point.

Violence and threats were used to rob them of their personal effects which included cell phones, wallets, cash, jewelry and an IPad.

The male victim received injuries to his head.

Police attended the hotel location and, with the help of the victim, were able to identify the main suspect through a picture on Facebook.

The suspect, who used an alias name, was known only to the victims as a friend of a mutual friend.

Subsequent to the police investigation, a search warrant was executed on Sunday (April 13) at a North Vancouver residence where three men were arrested.

The arrest was made with the assistance of the Lower Mainland ERT team where the stolen property, drugs and a handgun, was seized.

All three men, who are well known to police, were taken into police custody where 26-year-old Liban Robleh of North Vancouver was charged with three counts of firearms offences.

Robleh appeared in court and was remanded in custody until Thursday.

As the investigation unfolds additional criminal charges are expected against the accused along with the other two adult male suspects.
