Interior Health gets two new board members

Interior Health is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members — Tammy Tugnum and Dennis Rounsville — to its Board of Directors.
“These appointments strengthen community connections and help ensure we maintain a regional perspective in health services planning and delivery,” said Board Chair Norman Embree.
“Both bring a solid business background and equally strong commitment to community, along with other skills and knowledge that further broadens our Board’s expertise.”
Tugnum is General Manager at Cariboo Chevrolet Buick GMC Limited in Williams Lake where she has been working for 19 years. Always active in her community, Tugnum is currently the President of the Williams Lake Harvest Fair and Director of the Cariboo Foundation Hospital Trust.
Tugnum was appointed on March 31 to the IH Board.
Meanwhile, Rounsville, a resident of Cranbrook for more than 25 years, was Executive Vice-President and most recently was President of the Forest Products Group for Tembec Inc. from 2005 until 2013, when he retired.
Rounsville has served on multiple boards including the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce and Blue Lake Forest Education Society.
He is a member of the Association of BC Forest Professionals, past Chair of the Council of Forest Industries and past Chair of the Interior Lumber Manufacturers Association and holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of British Columbia and completed the Executive Business Management Program from the Banff School of Advanced Management.
Rounsville was appointed to the IH Board on April 1.
The Interior Health Board of Directors oversees operations, works with management to establish overall strategic direction for the organization, and ensures appropriate community consultation.
The Board also regularly reviews the organization’s long-term plans, significant issues affecting the organization, and evaluates results. Board members are appointed by the provincial government’s Board Resourcing and Development Office, within the Ministry of Health.
