Fire near Princeton 70 percent contained

A wildfire neaer Princeton is 70 percent contained said a media source with the Kamloops Fire Centre.

The suspected to be human-caused fire, that the specific cause remains under investigation, tarted on Sunday evening (September 14) and grew quickly due to strong winds and dry fuel.

There are structures in the area, but no evacuation alerts or orders are in effect.

At least 30 firefighters, one helicopter and three pieces of heavy equipment are currently fighting the fire.

The Fire Centre said firefighters, heavy equipment and airtankers responded quickly to this fire when it started. Fourteen firefighters worked on the fire overnight.

The size of the active fire is 182 hectares
