Cloverdale Post office evacuation lifted

Surrey RCMP report a package found at the Cloverdale Canada Post office Wednesday morning with an unknown sustance inside is not a concern to the public.

The powdery substance is determined to be veterinarian supplement.

RCMP were called at 5:35 a.m to the Cloverdale Canada Post office regarding a large amount of white powder that fell from a package to the floor.

As a precaution the building was evacuated and the Surrey Fire Department Hazmat team was called to determine whether the substance is dangerous.
 
Surrey RCMP assisted with the evacuation. There have been no injuries and no one was been taken to hospital.

Contrary to some reports there was no explosion of any kind.  
 
Evacuation has since been lifted as the substance was confirme not suspicious and determined to be veterinarian supplement.

Owner of package has been contacted.

No criminality suspected.
