The aim was to raise awareness about violence against women and their children and to bring funds to local societies to support affiliated services.

Last week — Thursday, June 21 — was International Go Skateboarding Day.

St Saviour's Anglican Church is once again throwing open its doors for summer tours, beginning Tuesday, July 3.

Church tours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Saturday inclusive, with volunteer tour guides in attendance to answer questions.

Alternately, visitors can pick up an informational pamphlet for a self-guided tour or just enjoy a quiet contemplative time.

West Kootenay EcoSociety announced a star-studded lineup this week for the kickoff of the Market Fest season on Friday (June 29) on the 200 and 300 blocks of Baker Street.

A small class projected blossomed into a full gown garden/greenhouse as the Global Perspectives class of L.V. Rogers Secondary culminated a successful year in the dirt.

With the 25th anniversary run just around the corner, the West Kootenay Toy Run is stepping things up a  notch.

For starters it is really a pleasure to be able to offer you all a chance at two raise money for the food-banks, women's shelters and families of the Kootenays.

The Toy run has two beautiful Harley Davidson motorcycles for raffle with only 3000 ticket being sold.
