Nelson’s Downtown Local Market is kicking off the new season Wednesday (June 11) with the first market of the season.

The Nelson Downtown Local Market, sponsored by the West Kootenay EcoSociet, is back for its fifth season of offering an amazing mix of local produce, plants, prepared foods, body care, and hand-made arts and crafts.

The Market runs every Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through to September 24.

Customers can rest assured that they are supporting the local economy due to the fact that 80 percent of each vendor’s wares must be made locally to be sold at the market.

Customers venturing to the market will find fresh local produce and locally made products including jewellery, pottery, paintings, natural body care items, essential oils, fresh flowers, garden stepping stones, clothing, and more.

There’s also prepared foods include cupcakes, cookies, crepes, gluten-free baked goods, jams, syrups and more.
