Wayne the Star Guy offers close up look at rare Total Lunar Eclipse

In the North, Central and South America, this rare Total Lunar Eclipse of a Supermoon on Sunday evening.

Wayne the Star Guy will have the telescopes set up at Taghum Hall, located 10 kilometers west of Nelson on Highway 3A, from 6:30 p.m. to the end of the eclipse.

Wayne the Star Guy said as the Moon rises in the east at 6:34 pm, it will already be partially eclipsed and by the time it clears the local mountains, it most likely will be fully eclipsed.

“It will be totally eclipsed from 7:11 p.m. to 8:23 p.m. with mid-totality happening at 7:47 p.m.,” he explained.

“At this point the the Moon should appear red at the top, brightening to orange and yellow towards the bottom.”

Wayne the Star Guy said Moon will be moving out of Earth’s shadow from 8:23 p.m. to 9:27 p.m. and we will see the Moon slowly brighten. starting with the lower, southern region.

He wait people don’t nee equipment to watch the eclipse, however if you would like to see the eclipse close up, I will have telescopes set up at Taghum Hall
