Telus Community Ambassadors are at it again.

The local organization presented high-visible arm bands to the RCMP, Nelson City Police and the Seniors Co-ordinating Society to be distributed to pedestrians who need to be more visible to be safe.

The Telus Community Ambassadors are made up of retired BC Tel and Telus employees as well as present employees.

Together they form the charitable arm of Telus by volunteering time and talent to such things as school supplies for low income students, gift bags for needy babies born at the hospital, gift bags for seniors and basic hygiene supply bags for the homeless.

Telus funds the supplies and members do the leg work to fill the bags and distribute them.

The volunteers help the Salvation Army, the Food Bank, Lions Park, and many other activities throughout the year.

They also fund raise with garage sales and coupon book sales to provide an annual $1000.00 bursary for a deserving LVR student and to distribute money to some other local charities.
