Selkirk Pro-Musica Concert Series presents Rebecca MacLeod and Sebastian Ostertag

For the debut concert of the 2016-2017 season, the Selkirk Pro-Musica Concert Series is proud to present Rebecca MacLeod and Sebastian Ostertag.
Nelson-raised violin virtuoso, Rebecca MacLeod is joined by cellist Sebastian Ostertag to perform an exciting program featuring works by Bach, Glière, Kodály, and the famous Handel-Halvorssen duo for violin and cello.
MacLeod and Ostertag have performed together across Canada in concert halls, churches and cottages. Together they present eclectic concerts that vary in genre, era and style, from Klezmer to Kodály and beyond. They also perform regularly as part of a Toronto-based accordion trio.
As graduates of the Masters of Music program at the University of Toronto, MacLeod and Ostertag have performed in leading ensembles including the Canadian Opera Company, the National Ballet of Canada, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, and the Stratford Festival Orchestra. Recently, they recorded the soundtrack for Mariner, a short drama being premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
MacLeod has unique connections to the Selkirk Pro-Musica Concert Series. In her youth, she studied violin with former board member Wendy Herbison and recently completed her Master of Music degree under the tutelage of last season’s feature performer, Jonathan Crow.
The beautiful St. Saviour’s Pro-Cathedral will once again provide an intimate experience and incredible acoustics for this fantastic concert.
