Kootenay Kids Society Board Chair Janet Leahy and Executive Director Valerie Warmington happily accept a cheque for $5000 from Scotiabank Nelson Branch Manager Sharlene McKie recently.

This cheque presentation was the Grand Finale to a very successful fundraising partnership with Scotiabank Nelson’s staff and Kootenay Kids
Society volunteers.

Four Lemonade Stand & Bake Sale events were held over the summer on Baker Street in front of Scotiabank Nelson.

Thanks to the generosity of locals & visitors along with generous donations from the business community, Kootenay Kids Society raised just over $5000 which was then matched by Scotiabank Nelson with their huge cheque for $5000 as part of their Bright Futures progra.

The money raised will help to support and maintain the many support programs that Kootenay Kids Society offers in our communities with most likely to be spent on food to help feed children and their parents.
