Robogames draw huge crowds for fourth annual event

The 2014 Robogames featured a sellout crowd of participants at Selkirk College Tenth Street Campus Saturday.
More than 180 people attended the fourth annual Kootenay Association for Science and Technology (KAST) event to watch 32 competitors focus on programming and designing electronics and robotics.
Top place finisher in the Youth (12 & under) was 10-year-old Jaida Klassen and 12-year-old Sydney Furman.
The duo edged out Carter Erickson, Ciaran Tanner and James Price, all 11 years of age, for the gold medal.
In the Student (over-12) 16-year-old Noah Rawick came away as the big winner.
Second was Noah Gaffran, Evan Forst, Matthew Holitzki and Reece Boulanger, all 14 years.
Competitors ranged from Kinnaird Elementary, Stanley Humphries Secondary School and Twin Rivers Elementary in Castlegar; Lucerne Elementary and Secondary School in New Denver and Nelson Waldorf and French School, Trafalgar Middle School and L.V. Rogers Secondary in Nelson.
