The Third Annual Nelson Green Home and Energy Show was a big hit for Patti McPherson.

Not only did McPherson gather a ton of information from the event, but she also was the grand prize winner of $1,000 towards a Pedego Canada electric bike.

“I’m a big proponent of using active transportation and having the electric bike now affords me the option to walk or ride to work and around town but in less time,” McPherson said after receiving the prize from Mike Clyde of Pedego Canada.

“Besides the health benefits I get from riding it has also opened up dialogue with the students at the school I work at and giving them the incentive to walk or wheel to school as well.”

The Home and Energy Show, sponsored by Nelson Hydro’s EcoSave program, the West Kootenay EcoSociety and Columbia Basin Trust, gave the public new ways of making greener choices; for buildings and transportation.

Nelson EcoSave Program Coordinator Carmen Proctor was on hand with Clyde of Pedego Canada to make the donation to McPherson.
