Last week, on New Year’s Eve, Liam Dickieson had an idea.

Why not take advantage of a recent snow-dump in Nelson to create something out of the white stuff.

Dickieson, who enjoys designing and building things in the snow, came up with the idea of constucting an igloo in the front yard of the Cedar Street home.

With the help of Father Mark and two-year-old sister Phoebe, the trio created the winter structure.

Unfortunately, the igloo was short lived as the recent January monsoon leveled most snow sculptures in the Heritage City.

However, for a brief period Dickieson, thanks to the application of lights inside the structure, had the opportunity to show off the igloo to the public.
