Nelson Lions Club accepting Community Grant Applications

The Nelson Lions Club is more than just a service club which hosts the July 1 Pancake Breakfast or picks up Christmas Trees following the holiday season or caretakes Lions Park located in the Uphill District of the Heritage City.

The community service club also accepts applications for its Community Grant Program.

This program, in its 11th year,  has the Lions club utilizing funds generated from the Investment in the Osprey Foundation to fund the program.

Applications are accepted from the Lions Club of Nelson membership area which is approximately defined as the City of Nelson, North Shore, Harrop, Proctor, Balfour, Taghum and Beasley.

Only those organizations or individuals who can issue an official donation receipt under the Federal Income Tax Act are qualified to apply for the Lions Club of Nelson Community Grants.

Deadline for grant applications is November 30th, 2019.

Application forms and detailed grant application guidelines are available by contacting the club through the club’s web site Community Grant tab at Nelson Lions Club website.

Some of the other events sponsored by Nelson Lions Club are Chuckwagon & Casino Rentals, Firewood Sale, Guide Dog Events, Health & Welfare Programs, Annual Variety & Magic Show, Pink T-Shirt Day Sponsor and Hearing Aid Assistance.

Lions Club meets First and Third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at 422 Vernon Street in Nelson.
