Nelson CARES Society is hosting rolling out the red carpet for its third monthly inclusive community dance.
On Thursday, May 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the Front Room in the Heritage City, Nelson CARES is holding an Inclusive Dance — May Squerade Social.
“Most of us take for granted that we can interact and socialize with friends, coworkers, and peers when we want, how we want, and in the setting, we choose . . . community activities come naturally,” Nelson CARES spokesperson said.
“But for people living with different abilities, opportunities to get together with peers can be quite rare. People often need support and directed effort to make social opportunities happen.
“So, this is really a simple idea, as old as time. Give people a chance to get together and know each other in a social setting.”
Admission is $2.
Nelson CARES appreciates the support of Community Living British Columbia, Columbia Basin Trust and Nelson Lions Club to host this event.
