Seventy-five brave swimmers accomplished more during the Kootenay Hospital Lake Foundation Polar Bear Swim than clearing a head from the night before.

The contingent raised more than $700 for the foundation during the annual New Year’s Day ritual.

Through donations for the chili and hot chocolate, as well as pledges collected, the Polar Bear Swim raised $784.64 for the foundation said KLHF administrator Bryna Idler.
