Kootenay Tax Payers Association invites public to night with former CEO Jim Shepard Wednesday in Castlegar

The Kootenay Tax Payers Association is eager to get the word out to voters in advance of the provincial election in May of 2013 and has commissioned the services of former Canfor and Finning Tractor CEO Jim Shepard to help.

The association is sponsoring the first of several speaking engagement in the next several months Wednesday (September 19) in Castlegar at the Community Complex.

“(We) are bringing in several speakers to the Kootenays over the next few months to help ensure that our region can hear directly from many perspective to help voters make the best decision for our future,” said the Kootenay Tax Payers Association written release.

Shepard, as former CEO for Canfor and Finning Tractor, is as an advisor to Premier Christy Clark and promises a unique and interesting view of the future of BC.

The evening begins at 7 p.m.

The Kootenay Tax Payers Association is a coalition of ratepayers who wish to keep public officials and elected representatives accountable as it relates to community and government services.
