Kootenay Seniors is delighted to announce its services currently being offered:

  • Home Support Program helps seniors to stay in their homes longer by safely providing light housekeeping services. Subsidized rates for low-income seniors. NOW ACCEPTING CLIENTS.
  • The Volunteer Driver Program provides safe rides for seniors by screened, experienced drivers seven (7) days a week.  This is a customized door to door service.  Medical appointments take priority, although we provide non-medical transportation as well.  Rides must be booked at least one business day in advance and are dependent on driver availability in the area. WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR MORE VOLUNTEERS FOR THIS PROGRAM. NO COST TO DRIVERS!
  • The Transportation Program provides information and support around low-cost, safe transportation options for seniors.  We aim to safely increase mobility and decrease isolation for seniors, supporting their independence.  We provide trip planning and transportation subsidies when available. This program also offers transit orientations and escorted day trips on public transit. Kootenay Seniors offers safe free delivery of groceries and other items by screened volunteer drivers.
  • Seniors check-ins. We provide bi-weekly or weekly telephone check-ins with seniors to ensure they are staying safe, staying home, and checking whether they need anything. Anyone who wants to be included for senior check ins is welcome to call or email.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL KOOTENAY SENIORS PROGRAMS
