Kootenay Co-op rolls out red carpet to Tailgate Party Saturday

It’s like a celebration before the big event . . . Christmas Party before Christmas.
The Kootenay Co-op invites friends, Nelsonites and Kootenay-ans to the
Big Tailgate Party Saturday, July 7 at the new location of the Co-op at 708 Vernon Street — site of the old Extra Foods parking lot.
“Everyone is invited to join in the festivities and to help celebrate this giant step forward in life of the Co-op,” the sign promoting the event said.
The Kootenay Co-op recently purchased the Extra Foods building. Plans are in place to either renovate the exhisting building or demolish the site and rebuild.
There’s going to be a barbecue, live music, games and entertainment for everyone.
Co-op organizers invited the members to bring friends along with a healthy appetite.
