More than 100 local individuals representing 45 local nonprofit organizations contributed to Kootenay Co-op Radio’s Amplifying the Voices of Our Community radio documentary project, and now it’s time to announce that the project is now complete and it is time to celebrate.

The public is invited to the project launch party to be held at Touchstones Museum of Art and History at 502 Vernon Street in Nelson on  Thursday, May 3rd from 5 – 7 p.m.

There will be interviewing some of the people involved in making the project happen as well as enjoying some food and drink.

Tekoa Predika and Michelle Rainey from Rainika PhotoGraphik will also be on hand if you’d like to have a tintype photograph taken, and there will be listening stations set up so you can hear the 20 finished documentaries. This is a public celebration with friends, colleagues and family.

These documentaries, which were funded through a grant from the Community Radio Fund of Canada, will eventually be played on Kootenay Co-op Radio, podcast on the KCR website as well as distributed to local libraries, archives and institutions.

The launch party is an opportunity to have a sneak peek and meet Kootenay Co-op Radio staff, volunteers and other project participants who have made this project a success.
