Johnny McCuaig Band set to play The Royal in Nelson

Fresh off a trip to Las Vegas where the band wowed the crowds on Fremont, the Johnny McCuaig Band, is returning to the Heritage City for one night, Friday, November 18th, at the The Royal on Baker Street.
Onstage this five-piece rock band headlined by Nelson native Johnny McCuaig, is fresh, heavy, experimental and best of all popular. These musicians work their butts off to consistently thrill fans with their one-of-a-kind live show that bursts with energy and positive vibes.
The band have shared the stage with such acts as Foreigner, Buck Cherry, Bif Naked, 54-40, Wide Mouth Mason, Moist, The Trews, Kim Mitchel, The Tea Party and Econoline Crush to name a few.
For people in the mood for something more refreshing than a cold pint on a sweaty day, it’s time to experience TJMB.
This bagpipe sensation has people groping for superlatives trying to define this McCuaigian Sound. Try to imagine a band that can seamlessly blend and twist almost every style of popular music together. The Blues mixed with a 70’s groove. A chugging rock guitar interlaced with Scottish Bagpipes. Like a Country train with a melodic voice that pulls you in without choice.
Nelson native John McCuaig, who also runs Mad Piper Entertainment, released a new CD with the help of Juno Award-winner Jason Plumb will be handling production of the project.
The Johnny McCuaig Band appears witwh special guests Drunk Uncles, featuring locals Kevin Carmichael,Troy Beck, Scott Hargreaves and Darren Peloso.
The McCuaig Brigade is a party and everyone is invited.
Doors at 8 p.m., show starts at 9 p.m.
