Showtimes are July Thursday, July 25, Friday, 26, and Saturday, July 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, July 27 at 2 p.m.
“We’re inviting everyone to come out and get your summer live theatre fun,” says Capitol Theatre Executive Director Stephanie Fischer. “We have a wonderful and amazingly talented cast and the stage design, puppets and imagery will blow you away.”
Roald Dahl's James and the Giant Peach is a musical for the whole family with a memorable musical score. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach — and that launches a journey of enormous proportions.
Critics have pronounced that James and the Giant Peach is a "masterpeach!"
“Live performance is the ultimate storytelling vehicle,” said Fischer. “Sharing a story with a roomful of strangers is a uniquely rewarding experience. And in the case of James and the Giant Peach, it’s also great, quirky fun for the whole family.”
The long-running Summer Youth Theatre Program at the Capitol has provided several generations of youth with profound experiences, life-long memories, and a deep appreciation for the arts. A thank you goes to our show sponsors: Nelson & District Credit Union, National Theatre School, Rotary Club, City of Nelson and the Province of BC.
