Creston and Castlegar residents came out in droves for the Regional District of Central Kootenay’s Household Hazardous Waste Roundup, as 400 residents dropped off hazardous waste items like acids, fertilizers, roofing tar, and solvents.

“Product Stewardship groups ReGeneration and BC Used Oil also participated in the events, allowing residents the chance to drop off items like paint, oil, flammables, and batteries,” the RDCK said in a media release.

“ElectroRecycle and Return-It Electronics will be on hand to accept small appliances, power tools and electronics at the Salmo, Nakusp and Silverton events.”

Nelson Leafs Recycling Depot accepts electronics and small appliances along with paint and lighting products year-round.
