When the fall hits Fernie, a new event will be coming to town to help celebrate the harvest in the Elk Valley. Our Harvest Feast & Fest – Fernie’s Fall Fair will be held September 19th and 20th in Prentice Park and will bring the community together to enjoy our local harvest.

The “Feast” on the evening of Saturday, September the 19th will be prepared by Chef Barrie Elliott, winner of Chopped Canada – a televised Food Network competition.

The harvest feast will feature a locally-sourced menu of harvest cuisine, served ‘en plain air’ at the Community EcoGarden. Local wine and beer will be available for purchase, alongside live music and a fundraiser auction with all proceeds going towards keeping Fernie wild.

The “Fest” will be held on Sunday, September the 20th from 10am – 4pm in Prentice Park.

This Fall Fair themed day will feature a farmers market, food vendors, miniature ponies, apple pressing and cider making workshops, biggest/best/weirdest fruit or vegetable competitions, a chilli cook off, pie competition, cake walk and all sorts of old time fall fair games for the kids and kids at heart.

“We have an amazing selection of food being produced in our region and this is key in ensuring our community is food secure” states Holly Kimola, a Wildsight Elk Valley Branch volunteer. “It’s time to celebrate the amazing harvest from our Elk Valley farmers – enter the first annual Our Harvest Feast & Fest – Fernie’s Fall Fair”
