Granite sculpture by Nelson's Cam Douglas finds home at St. Eugene Mission Resort

A sculpture created by Cam Douglas of Nelson is being officially having his unveiled Wednesday at the St. Eugene Mission Resort outside Cranbrook Wednesday afternoon.

 

Douglas created the granite sculpture at Duratti Stone Studio in Balfour, BC.

 

The sculpture, titled ǂKAMNIN’TIK (The Children) was installed Sunday prior to Wednesday’s official ceremony.

 

The ceremony begins with an opening drum and prayer followed by statement from Barry Zwueste before the introduction of Douglas.

 

Ktunaxa Elder Herman Alpine will say a few words before the unveiling by Sophie Pierre.
