The West Kootenay EcoSociety is once again putting on its annual Winter Craft Fair. This year’s fair will take place on Saturday, December 9 at the Central School Gym, 811 Stanley Street in Nelson, and will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All of the products that will be on offer are hand-made locally so you know you are supporting the local economy and local crafters when you shop at this fair.

EcoSociety’s Markets and Events Director, Jesse R. Woodward, said that he was thrilled when, like last year, all of the 30 tables for this market sold out very quickly.

“I love the Central School Gym location for this fair with its ease of access and location but I do wish I could fit in more vendors as I have over 20 vendors still on my wait list for this event.” he said. He also stated that “customers will really appreciate the quality and diversity of the products at the Winter Craft Fair and they can also feel good about supporting local maker’s and artist”.

On the topic of support, EcoSocity would also like its 2017 market sponsors that really help in making the Nelson markets sustainable. This includes; The Kootenay Co-op, The Savoy Hotel, Nelson & District Chamber of Commerce, Oso Negro, The Kootenay Bakery Cafe Co-op, Bia Boro Clothing and many more.

Customers will spot some of their favorite vendors, as well as some new participants, from the Downtown, Cottonwood and MarketFest events that are also run by the EcoSociety. Like the summer markets there will be a wide verity of items for sale including; body care products, clothes, blown glass, photography, pottery, bake goods and much, much more. “This market is such a feel good market for me as it is always the last market the EcoSociety market season so there lots of hugs and smiles as vendors and the public come together for one last time before the year is over.” said Woodward.

A $2 to $5 donation is being requested at the door to help EcoSociety cover the costs of this market.

If you are looking for something distinctive and unique for the special people in your life don’t miss out on being a part of the 2017 EcoSociety Winter Craft Fair. Bring your family and friends.

Support your local community and have fun.
