City of Nelson staff are gearing up for the BC SPCA Paws for a Cause Walk Sunday, September 7 at the Rotary Lakeside Park with a friendly challenge against workers at the Regional District of Central Kootenay.

Sunday’s event, registration at 9:30 a.m. followed by walk at 11 a.m., is the only day of the year dogs are permitted to be right in the park.

Last year the RDCK raised more than the City staff, so the City of Nelson staff are trying hard to get the word out and hopefully come ahead this year.

All of the proceeds of this event go directly to the local Nelson SPCA Branch which benefits animals at the Nelson SPCA.

Participants can enjoy a variety of entertainment and fun activities, including games for dogs, barbecue, a family fun area, complimentary coffee, and prize presentations for top fundraisers.

The event brings animal lovers and their furry friends from all walks of life together for a great time as well as a fantastic cause.
