Local students will once again be hosting a 12-hour music festival in Lakeside Park to raise funds for War Child Canada. ‘Keep the Beat 2016’ runs from 10 am to 10 pm and will include live music, dancing, a silent auction and raffle, and a kids tent full of fun activities.

All proceeds go towards development projects benefiting children in war-torn countries.

“It’s a really fun way to support a great cause,” says head organizer Quinn Barron.

“The process of putting it together can be a lot of work, but also a lot of fun, and in the end it’s always worth it.”

This year’s festival will feature local talent such as Bessie Wapp, Breakwater, Jon Burden and the Bleeding Hearts, and many more wonderful musicians.
