'Fundraising Rummage Sale' Saturday in Downtown Nelson
The Nelson Downtown Business Association is sponsoring a “Fundraising Rummage Sale” Saturday, June 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Rummage Sale to raise funds to help victims of the recent earthquake in Nepal by donating to ShelterBox Nepal and to raise funds for Nelson’s affordable housing initiative, the Room to Live project (nelsoncares.ca).
“This is a great opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to our local and global community, while clearing out old stock or accumulated supplies we no longer need,” said the NBA in a media release.
All businesses, including shops on Baker, Victoria, Ward, Josephine, Hall, Front and Kootenay Streets, are encouraged to participate, including restuaruants, retail stores, offices, retail and health services.
“It’s a business garage sale, so business are asked to gather all your old stock or other items you’d be prepared to sell for a good cause,” the release said.
Businesses are ugred to plan a sidewalk sale on the street in front of your business or make room inside.
Put rock bottom prices on the item and collect all proceeds for equal donation to the two causes identified.
