The Nelson-Creston Greens Constituency Association is proud to host An Evening with Andrew Weaver – A New Direction for Politics in B.C. at the United Church in Nelson, (Friday) April 10th, 7 p.m. at 602 Silica St.

According to the Globe and Mail, “BC Green Party MLA Andrew Weaver has been punching above his weight.”

His engaging ideas cut across B.C.’s rigid political party lines, but where is he taking us, and how are we going to get there?

Emmy Award-winning environmental journalist and author Mark Nykanen engages Andrew Weaver live on stage, in an evening of informal conversation about a new vision for BC in the 21st Century.

The public is invited to join and participate in this engaging evening.

Dr. Weaver is a formidable expert on climate change and joined the BC Greens as a candidate and Deputy Leader in 2013.

“I ran for politics because I believe we need to change the tone of the conversation in B.C.’s legislature. I’m not your typical MLA, but I made the shift from science to politics because I want to use my background in science, policy and community to offer vital perspectives that will strengthen our province,“ says Andrew Weaver.

He has a long list of credentials that include serving as Lead Author for the 2nd through 5th Scientific Assessments of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

The IPCC was the recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. He is a parent, a Landsdown professor at the University of Victoria and has been awarded the Order of British Columbia.
