Looks like there’s another week of waiting before the Downtown Market kicks off the 2017 season on Baker Street in Nelson.

The West Kootenay EcoSociety will reopen the 2017 Nelson Downtown Local Market on Wednesday June 14th in the 400 block of Baker St. for its eighth year of operation.

The market will run each Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. through to September 27th, offering an amazing mix of local produce, plants, prepared foods, body care, and hand-made arts and crafts.

Customers can rest assured that they are supporting the local economy due to the fact that 80 percent of each vendor’s wares must be made locally to be sold at the market.

Come on down to this market every Wednesday, you will find fresh local produce and locally made products including jewellery, pottery, paintings, natural body care items, essential oils, fresh flowers, garden stepping stones, clothing, and more.

Prepared foods include cupcakes, cookies, crepes, gluten-free baked goods, jams, syrups and more.
