Chuckleberry Community Farm – a local year-round producer of micro greens for the West Kootenay and Okanagan regions – is taking big leaps as an inspiring model of sustainable food production.

This summer, the farm is hosting several live-in camp style workshops each with a focus on sustainable living and abundant food production.  Workshops will occur amongst a fully operational farm where a community of inspired clear-minded individuals engage in sustainable farming and endeavor in deepening their self-discovery through their unique lifestyle imbued with morning practices, nonviolent communicating and authentic emotionally intelligent relating.

“It was fascinating just watching these guys navigate their relationships throughout the day; I was touched by their presence and genuine caring relationships with each other.  I thought just how alive they are,” said Megan, a recent workshop participant.

Workshop topics include: high yield intensive gardening; small footprint year-round micro greens production; adaptation of natural systems for sustainability such as solar heating/ power/ dehydration as well as air convection/ earth heat sink/ earth refrigeration and rain catchment system. The workshop also includes effective communication skills for healthy community relating.

Chuckleberry founder Jon Scott welcomes those intrigued in joining our exploration of a more wholesome and sustainable way of life. Chuckleberry Chef, Maxim Grunin invites farm guests to explore what it could look like to wake-up in the morning deeply inspired about a life so worth living.  The workshops include homemade organic meals and community camping on the farm.
