2016 Terry Fox Run in Nelson

Nelsonites came out in the hundreds to make the 2016 Nelson Terry Fox Run a success. — Bruce Fuhr photos, The Nelson Daily
One Caden Hauck was able to blow the horn it was off on the Nelson waterfront course.
Barb and Clint Saunders have participated in all 36 events.
Before the race, the registration committee registered all participants.
Pat Ridge of the Kootenay Rhythm Dragons, the organizing team, gives grandson Caden Hauck a few last minute tips on starting the race.
The sun shone brightly on Lakeside Rotary Park Sunday.
Puleng Pratt of the Kootenay Rhythm Dragons led the warm up.
The Robertsons, who now live in the house Terry Fox was raise in in Port Coquitlam were also at the Nelson event.
The Nelson Leafs hockey team helped at some of the transition points on the course and also ran in the event.
The mass start saw the walkers cruise through the park.
On Lakeside Drive, organizers set up a water station at the end of the 2.5 kilometer mark.
Terry Fox continues to inspire people to help find a cure for cancer.
