The Castlegar RCMP are continuing their investigation into the Nov. 20head-on collision which occurred on Hwy 22 between Blueberry and Fairview.  

Castlegar Top Cop Sgt. Laurel Mathew said they don't have reason to believe alcohol, drugs or speed were a factor, but they would like witnesses to help them determine exactly what happened..

Evan Ouchi and Owen Ditzel scored goals but that was not enough as the Nelson Peewee dropped a 4-2 decision to Creston in the final of the Castlegar Minor Hockey Tournament Sunday in the Sunflower City.

The game was tied until the midway mark of the third period before Creston exploded for a pair of goals.

Nelson opened the tournament with a 6-1 win over Castlegar.

It was the battle of the Castlegar rinks as Deane Horning captured the overall title at the Annual Doug Bothamley Memorial Cashspiel Sunday at the Nelson Curling Centre.

Horning, lead Nicole Horning, second Mike McKenzie and third Susan McKenzie, defeated fellow Castlegar rink Bill Van Yzerloo to claim the A event title.
